One Last Point on Fees
You, the inventor, must be aware that the above fees are the usual and customary fees to be anticipated, and paid. There are appeal fees, if you decide to appeal an Examiner’s final rejection of your patent application. There are appeal brief fees, and brief filing fees. Also, there are procedures, such as Request for Continued Examination (RCE) which may be used to provide more time in the patent process (or prosecution). These fees are not usually encountered, and I mention them so that you are aware that not all fees have been disclosed in this document. If you have specific questions, I am available to answer them, when the situation is anticipated to be encountered. In other words, I usually do not discuss appeal fees unless the potential for appeal is becoming apparent.
